fine pitch printing

Russ asks good questions and I think Chunks pretty much nailed it. Aspect ratio (aperture width/stencil thickness) s/b 1.2 minimum (I like 1.5 if I can get it). If your aperture width = lead width (.008"), yours is 1. Tough to get consistent paste r

Re: MicroBGA printing problem

I've had some trouble pasting a test board for a MicroBGA trial. Most of the paste remains in the stencil apertures. The stencil is 6 mil thick, laser cut and electo-polished. The apertures are 12 mil in diameter with 20 mil pitch. We are usi

Yes, I agree with Evtimov. It's more about aperature reduction and type than it is the type of machine. Aspect and and Area Ratio are very important. Take a look at this page I found on the internet http://www.qualiecocircuits.co.nz/stencil-techno

Hello everyone! Does any know anything about bare board size variations? Is there a spec. or tolerance? I'm running small lots of boards and during the screen printing process I find that I cannot paste each board perfectly.I've tried other

Volume and average height of solder paste after printing machine

Is that accurate? If so, what are your aspect & area ratios? [Similar to the JerryS comment above.] * You say, and the average height is very high: nearly 200 pct. => Our troop can make paste that height too. They snap the stencil-off a fast as

Hi, I need some urgent informations on stencil design guidelines on how to perform epoxy printing on 0603 and 0402 components. Could anyone help? ( Reflow process is not possible because of some other constriants) Sec

Congrats. You now control the source of almost 70% of the defects of your SMT operation. There is a neat series of presentations on printing, each year at SMI. One of the best of the SMI series was in 1997, because presenters used a common board

0402 Adhesive Screen Printing

Electronics Forum | Tue Apr 01 18:21:48 EST 2003 | slthomas

I've never printed adhesive but I assume that aspect ratio still plays a part with release. Maybe that .006" is just to thick to get good release. Can you step your stencil down from .006" to .004" or .005" for the 0402's?
