Michael, You need to know the measurement capability of whatever system you use to do your CpK measurement. Ideally you would do an error of measurement study of the measurement process. It is hard to imagine a measurement system that would err on

I had read all three reply to the interval of pcb in the reflow process already. Like Wolfgang said, base on the profiling and the temp that you set in there. The interval will be base on that temp. Some might have a gap of one pcb lenght, some mig

Okay, I believe that the XY table on our CP4-2 is not working correctly. When we place smaller parts (603,805,RNETS, etc...) they aren't seated in the paste all the way. Larger parts aren't a problem. They are kind of "floating" on top of the paste.

Dave: You should see a solder smudge on the gold plating where the ball was attached, if there is (was) solder reflow during either the (1) BGA fabrication, (2) your BGA attach, and / or (3) your BGA removal. You rework will not remove the solder

Like Wolfgang said, the breakaway tab is just another bar added to the edge of the pcb. This breakaway tab can be added by the FAB house in addition of extra cost...You can write DFM for your customer to see if they will pay for the cost or not...if

Curtis, They have a 'permalex' coating bonded to the metal. We see no signs of flaking. They are pricey but they do work, we had metal blades from the OEM, they were absolute trash (not MPM). We run 16-6 and they last at least 4 to six months in

The papers I've read suggest that we need to be concerned if the weight percent of gold in the finished joint exceeds 3%. You might want to do the calculations to see where you stand, before you set up a process to "tin" the leads. If you find that

Thats what we consider to be practical if the 20% were the worst case we see but the reality looks different. By chance we get a -20%, sometimes worse, sometimes a "good" 10%, rarely does it hit the nominal value and never its a +%. In short: It lo

Sounds like you have a component problem! I say this because you say the sodler is flowing away from the components (leads I assume) This sounds like none wetting of the component. Do a solderability test on the parts. Take the parts and dip the lead
