Regarding the issue of using a pick-up offset: I really can't see any benefit to this if the pockets in the tape are too large, since this means that you cannot be sure that the components always end up in the same position when the feeder indexes.

The process flow should be the same for all of these. I will admiot that I did not check each acronym you provided to see if any of these components require some sort of prep first before attachment.

Based on the amount of equipment I am seeing available in China for sale, my guess is China is suffering from over capacity issues at the this time. I could be wrong but it doesn't appear the world wide board assembly economy is anything but flat.

Thanks, Bob. I kind of figured that if anyone could help, you could. I'm not at work today (fighting some mysterious summer bug that's hung with me for a month now) but I'll see if anyone at Quad remembers the IIIc on my next day in.

I usually see this with mask that is not fully cured from the PCB shop. This probably agrees with the baking statement that you made.

Ken you're so right it scares me. If it looks too good its "reject" can't wait to see the definition in the lead-free workmanship standards.

Patrick, See your point. I migth was too focused towards how our EMS could get control of the mixed SMT process and final qualification. Rgds JaVi
