PCB Delamination

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 01 23:57:21 EDT 2012 | bwjm

HI Guys, i am facing similar issues with this BT resin material too. PCB specs are 4 layers, Nelco400013, same Tg and Td. My PCB delam after reflow. The PCB has both side mounted with SMDs. Initial mounting on the btm side after reflow, no delam. B

Through hole AOI

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 19 18:30:05 EDT 2012 | hegemon

When using AOI for through hole you can expect to be able to detect, depending upon whether inspecting from the solder side or the destination side: Polarity (if applies) Value (if marked) Presence (should be there) Non-Presence (should NOT be there)

Soldermask Compensation

Electronics Forum | Tue Nov 13 10:29:55 EST 2012 | 15009

I am looking for opinions on how much larger soldermask pads should be versus the copper. I am aware that some pcb manufacturers can hold tighter tolerances than others but is there an IPC recommendation? Some shops we deal with can hold .002 per sid

Tape and Reel Flatness?

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 26 16:07:56 EST 2012 | jerlong

Greetings, Does anyone know where to find a tape and reel flatness specification? Looking at the EIA 481-B standard, there is no reference to the tape flatness (the images shown may "imply" flatness from one side of the tape to the other, However I

Juki feeder rise error

Hi, as far as I remember Juki machines have sendor to check if there is a feeder high. So you have several thingd to check here: 1. Check if there is a feeder high 2. check the sensor calibration. I think it is a beam from one side that goes streig

BGA rework station

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 05 16:06:48 EST 2013 | mlevesque

We are looking for a new BGA rework station. We got an ERSA IR550A and we are not very satisfied. I'm not sure that IR reflow is the better solution because the top-side heating is too large. I think is better with a convection "forced-air" heat.

Selective Assembly

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 10 13:31:29 EDT 2013 | emeto

Is there anything on the other side of the board? If not the process will be very standard. 1. SMT - place the small parts on your board. It is called surface mount technology. Basically one machine applies solder paste on the board, another machine

OSP PCB Plating

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 17 20:20:21 EDT 2014 | mac5

Hi June, The biggest issue with an OSP finish is as soon as the PCB sees a heat cycle (reflow or wave) the finish will begin to degrade. If you have a single sided SMT assembly with THT components installed downstream it works pretty good. But a dou
