Indy, We use Palladium silver surface finish parts for silver epoxy attached parts only. It is our understanding that this finish is not for solder, but only silver epoxy attach. I expect that is you problem. Dave

Hi, Did anyone experience a problem with electrically conductive silver filled epoxy is resistive due to galvanic reaction? I'm having this problem when attaching components to Ni plated housing while conducting an experiment to cost reduction for Au

I am wondering if anyone can direct me to some resources that would help my team define some ispection criteria for silver epoxy. We are using the epoxy on joints as little as 0805. My team has differing opinions on how much is too little and how muc

Is this Corrosion? We found our boards with this issue 45 days after they were delivered to us from supplier. The board finish is HAL Leaded. But I noticed that the corrosion like issues are coming form the tiny via holes with SILVER EPOXY FILLING.

We had the same issue recently, we swapped to a 2 part shield to allow AOI and SPC xray. We also tested using silver epoxy and putting a one piece can down after inspection. That worked too.

I don't suggest using Pd/Ag or Ag/Pd terminated components unless you are forced to use them. You often see a line of demarcation that suggests a poorly wetted solder joint. I have had bad experiences with Pd/Ag terminated capacitors. Even when so
