OK, here is stupid question #..... oh, I lost track. While looking at a BOM I notice a lot of parts with "SMT" in the description. This is obviously Surface Mount. What do "SMB" and SMD" mean? I just know I will feel stupid when I read the answer.

Tell us what the rest of the descriptions are. for example SMD can mean surface mount device or if they are decribing a tant cap it probably means "D" or 7343 package, I see diodes labeled as SMB, SMA, etc.. which also relates to size. So who knows?

like this.... D13 Diode, Rctfr, SK12 1A, 20V Schottky "SMB" or F1 Pollyswitch, SMD300, 60V, 3A @20 celcius, "SMD"

In that context the "SMB" and "SMD" refers to the package or "case" type the mfg. uses. See the component mfgs. data sheet, last page usually that shows case outline drawing. These are usually avbl on the mfgs. website in a PDF.

PCB is 12.25" x 4". There are large MOSFETS on the board. Two large Electrolytic Caps. Two Large Multi-Layer Ceramic Caps. 15 C Size Tantalym Caps. A fair number of IC's, (SO-8's, SO-16's). No BGA's or finepitch of any kind. The board is double sided

Hi, My Bottomside component pads are 1:1 with my topside land sizes/dimensions. I have difficulties catching solders on my bottomside smd chips (SMB Diodes, 0805 RC Chips). What should the bottomside components for wave soldering be greater than my t

Forgot to include the following: Dwell time is from 55 secs to 68 secs. Indium specs for the paste is maximum peak @ 228'C and 30 to 90 secs dwell time above 183'C. PCB is a 6 layer board with Dimension of 205 x 166 mm but is slightly dense with 11

While we're unsure what you're trying to accomplish, .GER files are viewer files. The Gerber Plot File Viewer (GerberView) is a Windows based application that allows you to view Gerber plot and NC Drill files. You need a .GBX file or some other file

Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to SMT PCB design and am running into some frustration with the land pattern design of "standard" smt components in particular passive chip components. It seems each manufacturer (Yageo, Rohm, Panasonic) has their own

Okay, I've read about the pros and cons about solder paste dispensing. Now, I have a Camalot 3800 and I want to experiment about dispensing solder paste. I have a needle gauge of 25GA, 23 and 22. My pcb components are; RC 0603-1812, Size B, C and D
