guidelines for no-clean soldering

Hello, Going to be setting up a no-clean process for thru-hole components. Any guidelines i can use. Know the basics but want to make sure i am not overlooking any steps. Thanks Wayne Sanita

Are they visibly "popped" after wave but not before? Remember that many BGAs, especially plastic (PBGA) are very moisture sensitive and even 24 hours or less out of a controlled environment violates exposure rules.

Brian You're quite right. I frequently break this formula. The source recommends it as an almost assured success rather than an absolute. Given all the variables involved Steve should use it as a reality check and then just see what works. John T

Dream, Sound's to me like your PCB supplier has process problems, probably outgassing or such from trapped moisture / contaminant's. I thoink it's time you called in your vendor for a chat. JohnW
