Re: Paladium Leads Revisted

Electronics Forum | Tue May 26 13:04:08 EDT 1998 | Gary Simbulan

| Recently there was a thread on soldering paladium leads on ICs. A gent from TI suggested an article he had written. Various folks suggested making sure the reflow profile peaked above 215C. | My question is: How does one recognize paladium leads

After reflow the paste on a copper pad should spread out from its original print dimensions it should ideally not prior to reflow as that is a hot slump. The better the solderability of the OSP or the higher the activity of the flux will greter flow

Wave Chain Cleaning

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 04 10:07:46 EST 2004 | Chris Lampron

Sorry about the non SMT post, but I figured that there might be someone with a similar experience out there. We have been having a tough time cleaning the conveyor chains in our wave solder machine. We have been cleaning them in a self cleaning oven,

PIHR Inspection Criteria

Electronics Forum | Fri May 18 13:30:52 EDT 2001 | mparker

I will start with the statement that I think it is great that we have the ability to solder SMT components that emulates wave soldered components. With that in mind, I would want to find acceptance criteria to be similiar, regardless of the solder me

Again, I really appreciate the valuable input you all provided. Got my Air-Vac SRM4 machine Friday afternoon. Stored it safely in my cube over the week-end for safe keeping. Tried to find 220V single phase next to air with no luck yesterday. Electric

Adhesive printing with double side board

| We are having a small number (~2%) of our boards pass our manufacturing diagnostics, fail once they reach the customer, fail when they get back to us and then start working again after handling them for a short time. We have eliminated a lot of it

Solder paste handing

We are now using solder paste(OM325) and I have some problems on the folowing process: 1. We use the solder paste softer(Malcom SP-1) to warm-up for 20 mins, when it just take from refrigerator. Is there any problems for solderpaste performance? 2.

"connector fell off"

Electronics Forum | Sat Apr 03 05:22:46 EST 2004 | wsanita

Customer returned a board and a 50 pin connector with .020" pitch that "fell off". after looking under a scope i can see the plating of the connector embedded in the solder. To me it looks like it broke off. Designer did not put the anchor pads on th
