Hi, Does anyone have any experience of cleaning lead free solder paste residues off pcbs in a vapour degreasing process using Ensolv Ionic ? Any guide as to the best cleaning cycle would be appreciated. thanks

I have done the same thing. We are changing over to the Indium 8.9E solder paste. It prints great and the joints look great. Does not look like a lead free alloy. We have turned off the nitrogen.

It seems to be no solder paste release at certain stencil opening, you may need to enlarge the stencil opening. By the way what is the area ratio for the opening and how is the shape (round/square/diamond)?

I have worked with Chrys Shea for a number of years. She has written a few white papers on SPI that may be beneficial to you. Here is a link to her website; http://sheaengineeringservices.design.officelive.com/default.aspx

Where might I obtain this software that performs the aspect ratio for stencils, I could use Excel but why reinvent the wheel if there's something better

I assume your problem is comming from the carrier. If it is so: 1. use carrier from another ,aterial 2. Use solder paste that handles faster profile Good luck!
