Yes you can use no-lead parts in a leaded process. Your solder joints will be weaker than they once were unless you change your solder paste. You can try to improve this by running a hotter reflow temp, but be careful since your flux was not design

It would be nice, save you money, improve yield, improve reliability, etc. if your reflow process was more effective. It sounds like you're not getting the part hot enough during reflow soldering. Tell us about: * Measured temperature on this bluetoo

I'm concerned by the solder spheres in the via on the first picture. Are these boards mis prints that got washed and printed again? To me it almost looks like someone washed the board, but left a lot of solder paste on it. The lack of flux prevents

It appears to us that the problem lies in the lead-free solder paste rather than the inductors. We have not found a lead-free solder that does not do this. The green is on the copper wire. We believe it gets there during the reflow. The gasses fr

| | There is a company selling pcb with the solder past on the pads and coated with a tacky film to hold the part during assembly. Have you heard of them and can you tell me how to contact them? | | | | Contact Matt Kehoe at 770-475-4576 or 847-740

As Russ say, you can buy kits from Practical components and make your tries, the send those pcb's to your solder paste vendor for analysis.I am using Senju Lead free solder and I send boards to them then they cut the board and analyze your solder con

I am looking for IPC or other published standards that specify cleanliness levels for: 1) solder paste stencils 2) selective solder pallets When we cleaned PCB's we used a limit of 4 M-ohms. Now that we have transitioned to No-Clean, I am wonderi

The connector is so long, and has big metal parts, it will be little deformed during reflow I guess, andthe pins planarity should be critical for 200 pins. Did you measure the non wetting pins profile to see if temperature ok? And maybe you can try u

Hi Sophia, I`m responsible of SMT line and we solved this problem with a complete automatic solder paste printer machine. In the past we had problem with off alignment and solder height too.... at that time we used a semi-auto printer machine and w

Hi Krish, thanks for your detailed reply. Sorry I assumed you may be using a solder paste to solder the BGA to the pcb. Either solder paste or Gel flux is best for resoldering BGA to pcb. Are you using Gel flux ? Most popular long term storage for mo
