Tin/Lead we have had no problem in masking off areas on a pcb during wave soldering. Lead Free alloys, Nickel Silver Copper would there be any compatability issues with a Peelable latex solder mask containing Ammonia. Really hot need to know.

The only thing ammonia can do is tarnish copper and make it more difficult to solder. And the higher temp in lead-free will discolor the latex (giving it a sticky surface), but the functionality of the mask will be intact. There should be greater co

We are a contract manufacturer and we do business with a big company. There is a mistake in the design of the PCBs they are supplying: the pads are too long (under the component) and sometimes we get short circuit we cannot see. Changing the design w

If you are getting solder shorts under a device, how would "hiding" the extra long pad with solder mask help? If the pad can't be seen once the device is in place, it is already "hidden". Getting your customer to redesign the pads may take some time

Use a solder pallet, the pallet will mask off the locations required, thus eliminating the need for any kind of masking!! You've eliminated the need to apply, but you still have to peel off, not much of time saver. Pallets can be used for batch or s

We wouldn't advocate extending the soldermask beyond the component body but yes to ganging for fine pitch. To ensure we don't run into issues with flaking our preference is not to add solder mask when the space between pins is less than 6 mil.

| hi, | i am working towards developing a no-clean process for a customer at contract manufacturing facility. the assemblies have gold fingers on them. these are masked to prevent from any damage to them during reflow soldering. the earlier proces
