Go with the machine manufacturer's recommendations. And remember there are no hard and fast keep out areas. You can go a little tighter than they suggest but it is risky.

I feel like any chemical that will remove the solder will be much more detrimental to everything else. I have also never had to re-program an IC after reflow.

Because it was recommended by the machine manufacturer. Sup 75 is also very corrosive. It basically ruins any tools that touch it if they aren't cleaned properly. I am ordering some of that powder to try.

I would think this is not possible. If you can atack the solder alloy, I would assume this chemistry will destroy everything else before it gets to the metal.

You could try putting a dot of adhesive like Loc tight chip bonder or similar between the pads. The adhesive will cure before the solder paste hits the reflow temp and hold the LED in place.

I have a solder paste fridge; my question is what is the type of this connector so I can use it to attach a warning light. And is it a power source or is it a dry contact relay output?

The leads on the FPC are pre-tinned on both sides with SAC305. The receiving leads are AU. We do not experience any wetting issues that would suggest oxidation.

The leads on the FPC are pre-tinned on both sides with SAC305. The receiving leads are AU. We coat all surfaces with Kester 979 no-clean flux dispensed via pen prior to initiating the hotbar cycle.
