Thanks for the info Sarason. The UVCL is a Urethane. Did not want that hard of finish (for solder rework issues). We like the Acrylic as acetone will remove cured material for solder rework.

We use component BFU730LX and we have one problem. After reflow transistor base or collector lands are not soldered. Maybe someone have similar problems with this component? We tryed to change stencil pads (smaller , bigger) but problem is the same.

to my knowledge it will always be manual insertion,, if you mean reflow, not insertion, I always apply solder to one side, reflow, then apply tacky flux pre print to the already soldered pins, print op side, assemble part then send through placement

Anyone have any pointers on how to measure the purity level of the gas supplied to Selective Solder machines? We use both bottled gas and also have an N2 generator and would like to confirm that both are performing similar.

According to the manuals there is a 2D solder paste inspection mode on these machines. If anyone is using this option, please share the setup details. Thanks

Mach3 is a CNC software used by ACE-Protech to run their Selective Solder machines, I don't know what a jog pendant is, unless it's like a wired remote for moving the axis.

The problem we ran into trying to do more intrusive reflow is that many of the TH parts could not withstand the temperatures for the reflow cycle. Solder preforms that could be placed by the Pick and Place was one of the avenues I explored trying to

If the boards were still "wet" after DI wash, your [I assume] low res flux could be reacting with the moisture on the board and causing the white spots. The preheater in the wave could have more dryification than the preheater on the selective solde

Hi there. We’re Solder Otter, a team of recent engineering graduates from the University of Waterloo in Canada that is redesigning the soldering iron so soldering electronics can be safer and simpler. You may have seen the survey we posted back in 2

Hey there fellow people with SMT issues... What's the proper procedure for soldering through-hole headers on the back-side of the PCB (pins poking out on same side as SMT parts)? ( Yes - I did the SMT side first and am now faced with LOTS of pin-poin
