Hi, been researching archives for PCB composition. Nothing much for what I want. Can anyone direct me/advise of PCB composition, and I mean the full works. Content of base materials, solder resist, chemical compositions of epoxy etc. Much appreciat

The BGA solder ball composition is 62/36/2 Sn/Pb/Ag, does any problem exist for the solder joint reliability? And what is the difference on SMTA process between this and the normal 63/37 ball?

Git otta taun!!! I never have heard of an Sn62 BGA solder ball. Several thoughts on Sn62: * Look at http://www.smtnet.com//forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&CFApp=1&Thread_ID=4603Message17953& * Search the fine SMTnet Archives on Sn62

I am having cleaning problems when processing PCB's which have TAIYO solder mask on them. After processing, hand soldering and cleaning, a sticky residue is remains, resulting in a cosmetically poor finish with tide marks etc. Other soldermasks do no

Does anybody know how to remove solder mask from pads that were masked over.

Am looking for a dispensable water soluble solder mask or peelable solder mask that can be dispensed and be run through a reflow oven with no swelling or degradation. Any leads on any materials or manufacturers to contact?

Thanks Tim. Additional thoughts are: * We've talked here on SMTnet about hole fill previously. * That your ability to get hole fill is probably limited by mask in the hole makes us very uneasy, because hole could have varying levels of solder mask i

Just out of curiosity - what is the rationale behind specifying mask thicknes?

Excessive mask thickness also can wreak havoc on stencil printing.

Hi, I am currently using a peelable mask prior to wave soldering and have started exploring water soluble/washable masks. The mask will be used with water based and alcohol based flux. Are there any compatability issues to concider and how will this
