I have also come across this very same problem and found that our screen vendor made a mistake on our screen. Check the thickness of your screen it should be about six thousandths if it's eight thousandths then you are most likely depositing to much

Make sure your screen aperture size is about 80%, and you should not have a problem. Some pastes require a hump profile, to get rid of balls.

Robert: Howya doin' bud? You say "BGA Shorting!!!" I say "Too Much Solder!!!" So, earlier comments about aperture design are appropriate, make good points, and I think we both agree that improvements could be made in your stencil design, but I'm

Our customer has requested that we cut traces and add fly wires alot. What we use now is an exacto knife and a soldering iron to take off the trace. This works but does not look good and is not very efficient. Does anybody know of a tool to cut trace

Bob Galvin is no longer with Speedline/Electrovert. He has been gone for almost 2 years. The current Western Region Field Service Manager for Speedline is Randy Banks. 408 727 4650 is the correct number however.

My company is currently experimenting with with a 310 vox free water based flux on solder waves using Infared heat instead of forced convection. I'm interested if anyone has tried this and what results did you have

I agree with Steve, Ultra Sonic fluxing with positive displacement instead of air pressure is key (at least in my experience). You might want to try the NR330 instead. It seems to give less solder balls and fills holes very well. Russ
