Damian, Hi, thanks for the technological update... considering current cyberoptics marketing strategy of its pricing terms for its machines, little wonder when I personnally may have the chance to encounter this new little baby... Thanks.

Has anyone heard of the practice of coating radiant pre-heater plates with vegetable or peanut oil to protect and maintain the surface? Am I having my "leg pulled"?

How do yall monitor the concentration of yer saponifier? [NOTE: This is a BIG chance for NC flux-types to make smart remarks in retribution for remarks made about removing solder balls in an aqueous cleaner.]

What is the composition of tin to lead in the "Liquid Tinner"? It's been my experience that the higher the tin, the duller the solder appears. I've used 63/37 and 70/30 that both look shiny, whereas 80/20 does look dull. Just another thought to cons

J-STD-001 - Requirements For Soldered Electrical & Electronis Assemblies is the governing document. It defines no specific limits like you mention. It states words to the effect that preheating should not do bad things.

Your peak temperature needs to be 20 to 30C GT the melting point of the solder. What is the melting point of: * Tamura 60-30 paste? * Tin lead on your connectors? [You imply that it is 63/37, but is that correct?]

Dear all: We had a severe curvature in our boards after wave soldering.Could a second pass in the wavesolder m/c reduce this curvature. If not then what do you recommend to solve this problem. Also how it can be avoided. Best Regards Hany
