A customer of mine is having problem. They can't control their humidity. It is very dry. RH averages 28-30%. The water soluble solder paste prints great. But dries out on metal squeegee. Any suggestions.

Cavaits are: * N2 is not required for NC fluxes. * We assume you're talking reflow soldering. We assume that you want to be below 1000 ppm O2. Want does your flux supplier say?

Hi, champagne voiding is the term for small flux enclosures in a solder joint. Under X-ray that looks like the bubbles in a champangne glass. Marcus

Also, how much do these new generation wave machines go for? We do not need the top of the line model. We only run about 3 hours a day as we are designing less and less with through hole.

No matter what you do, get references from OEM's and CM's. Ask many pointed questions. Any reference worth his salt will give you the good and the bad of their purchase. I personally would not recommend TD.

Thanks for the info guys. Does anyone know what a mid range model from Electrovert or Vitronics will co$t? Also, do all lead free ovens require/come with the capability to use nitrogen?

Definitely get references! I think some of the most extensive lead free testing has been done at Thomson (RCA) and Visteon (Ford). You would definitely want to get their opinions.
