Does anyone have experience with Cyber Optics SE300 solder paste inspection system. Is this a solid machine? Is the software user friendly? Any info appreciated. Thanks in advance. Gary M

We used to use Butyl-glycol then I ran out and someone said it was no longer available. or maybe it was cheaper without it. After you use that you clean off the Butyl-glycol with IPA (Isopropyl alcohol)

I've seen 1-mil Kapton tape. Would that work, or would it be too thick? I've never tried it... How thick is the average solder mask?

We avoid kapton in this situation due to the thickness. 1 mil additional thickness can equal up to a 20% increase in paste volume at adjacent pads if you are using a 5 mil stencil. But then again, that is not always bad. But must be taken into consid

Hi, we are going to be doing the same here next week. Did u have to put anything in the pans, paraffin wax or such to prevent sticking to pans?

We've done the same as what Woodsmt has suggested. Bread pans and a ladle. Slow going but safe. We did not have to add anything to the pans to prevent sticking. Woodsmt, did you have to worry about the pot heaters over heating while draining?

First check the profile. I would go with linear profile and smoother increase of temperature. Usually you will get tombstones when you have too aggressive profile. My next step will be to redesign the stencil.
