Dear SMTNetters: Does anyone have a good method for determining the solderability of leaded high power resistors? We currently are using Dip and Look and they always pass yet solderability issues remain... Thanks! BWET

Hi Jacki, You should change to SN100C instead of SAC305. It give you excellent quality: 1. Can reduced solder short & icicles problem. 2. Very shinning solder joints. Rgds, Zaza

Jacki, your original post was regards to wave solder bath. With solder bar, there is no flux and you do not need to look for WS Sn100C. Sn100C is only a metal alloy. Regards, Shean

are you familiar with UL 796, Printed Wiring Boards i believe they discuss some standards and test procedures regarding conductor material, and solder material but im not sure if UL actually lists solder material by it self.
