Yes pads are still gold after the wave soldering process even if you wave solder a pcb several times. I have tried soldering using an iron and the solder takes to the pad as you would expect. This happens on all boards of this type and all boards are

Has anyone experienced bridging on topside (solder destination side) surface mount devices after wave soldering? We x-rayed 100% of the placements after smt re-flow with no issues. When the same placements were x-rayed after the tht wave solder pro

To be short, no change in profile is going to get you through this. As I recall the point of hard gold is to retard the wetting process, so no surprise here. For example a connector might have hard gold plating at the mating surface, but not at t

One of our PCB for high reliability application is having 2 BGAs(11X11, ADV 204), The pitch is 1 mm. We decided to wire the BGAs first using re-flow soldering and the rest of the components by hand soldering. Since the PCBs are for high reliability a

Preheating is critical in Vapor Phase Soldering. One trick that is done is to use the "soft vapor" area just above the soldering vapor, some machines can pause just before going into the soldering vapor. Using that pause above the vapor to continue
