Hi Zac, In looking at your photos, you may not be having a problem with your machine, but with the solderability of the PCB. I've zoomed in to an area that looks to me like the solder has de-wet from the pad. The leads appear like it almost has a fi

If N2 is not an option, the cut wire feeder or drilled wire are your best bet for now. You need to optimize wire feed rate as well. The solder joint on the robot takes about the same time to form as in manual soldering. If you need to speed the solde

Pin holes in the solder joints on various devices can be an indicator of something amiss with the solder paste itself. Solder paste storage may be a concern. Do you possibly have someone putting paste back in the refrigerator after use? Are you tr

Lead free HASL coatings can be susceptible to yellowing during reflow due to oxidation of the tin in the coating. Some HASL solder suppliers use anti-oxidant additives in the solder to limit or prevent yellowing of the coating. You may want to ask

Hi Lee, Depends on the pitch, but 3 main options: 1) Use solder preforms and intrusively reflow https://www.indium.com/solders/preforms/ 2) Use a selective solder machine on smallest nozzle or Robot with fine tip. Our Versaflow 3/45 can handle the

Looks like poor wetting/solderability to me. I don’t see heel fillets on the leads where the solder balls up. The solder has to go somewhere. It won’t flow where it won’t wet. Try printing a bare board and run through reflow. If the solder balls up o

Are you getting the same solder issues on all of the components on the board? Any consistency in the ones that come up with no-solder? Same pins, same orientation, etc? Could be a solderability issue on the component or pads. I hate random issues

I have a question for the Wave/selective Solder experts. We use a solder bath to Tin the legs of Transformers that are made in house. We use a Marselli BK4. It uses 50/50 solder. The question is, at what temp is best for this solder. Anyone use this

Yes. i do check all the parameter all seams good. I did compare my solder paste printing and profile with previous lot that did not have any BGA solder short issue which we run at the same line did not have any much difference. During rework also i
