You may want to consider Zestron's Vigon SC200 (703) 589-1198. Many of our customers use this chemical with great success. Another alternative is Hydrex from Petroferm (904) 261-8286. Good Luck, Mike Konrad Aqueous Technologies Corporation

We intend to use VOC free fluxe in our nytro machine. Does anybody know if there can be problems with water ie. solvent residues in the tunnel. Perhaps there are some white papers available on that issue.

You'll not find any solvent, which removes cured epoxy and not attack the board material as well. If there are traces underneath the surface mount components even mechanical removal of the epoxy may mess up your boards. As a mechanical tool I recomme

Require a conductive adhesive - either isotropic or anisotrpic - which can be used for 100micron oitch devices. Must be resistant to solvents such as MEK and acetone. Cure below 150C, with possible potential for rework of the conections.

Excess slump of paste and mis-registration can cause solder balls along with moisture. Use same date code of pcb and run with no components, paste only. Also pre-bake boards with humidity sensor in oven. If high humidity, moisture and solvent residue

Cleaning NC flux res seems like a good idea. Try: * Kyzen Aquanox SSA * Alpha 2110

I agree with Rob. Why use NC if the board is going to be cleaned anyway? Water soluable is much easier to get off if the board needs to be cleaned. Why else would they call it "no-clean"? Steve

Petroferm Hydrex DX and Zestron Vigon A200 works well to clean Alpha UP78 paste.
