Well, I'm going to assume you: * Have a nichel barrier between the copper on your board and the gold / solder solution * Use a lead / tin near euthectic solder If so, I pick "C" - It doesn't matter. When concerned about copper tin intermetallics, t

Hello once again! I am having a problem with a 24 pin connector bridging on the wave. We use very similar connectors on other PCB with zero problems. This connector bridges in the same place on the same pins. It forms like a little block of four

Mike, we use carrier's as a matter of course on all wave products, it let's us keep the conveyor width the same all the time so speed's up change overs and eleimiates one more thing that can be set wrong. The main aim of the exercise is to be able

Most RTV's depend on atmospheric moisture to cure. You can put them in an oven with a pan of water and that will speed up the cure. I'd suggest about 150 to 180 degree F, time period to depend on the thickness of the RTV. You'll have to do some tests

ok now i have some more answers to questions. the 225F is the temperature as the pcb comes out of the last preheater before crossing the wave. the conveyor speed is anywhere from 3.65-4.00 should it be the same for all boards?? I am using superfl

Charles, The percentage of misplaced components can increase with the number of components, because as you increase the number of placements the travel of the PCB,for a fixed turret machine, increases in table speed and distance. The slower the trav

My company just purchased a Vecta (E-vert) wave soldering machine. Bridging has become a serious issue, both on SMT components and thru hole. We are currently seeing about 500 ppm. The products that are being run now were run previously on our old

We are using NR300F from Alpha. Topside board temp is 220 deg. F. We have 3 bottom side convection preheaters, and we use a foaming fluxer. The machine (except for the rotary chip wave) is almost identical to the old econopak. An electrovert appl

I forgot to mention the mass placement machine from Nitto. The Nitto machine places all components out of bulkfeeders. Plastic tubes are routed above the feeders pick position and into cavities of a template. The template is made for the pattern of t

Jack, No need to get frustrated. There is not an optimization software made that will end up with a program that runs faster than doing the same program manually. There are too many ways to speed up production for the software to consider. Even if it
