If you lay a flat edge on the PBGA, it is visibly warped? How much of a warp? 0.001, 0.010, 0.050 what? What is your pcb temperature just prior to entering the spike process (zone or step or what ever you call it)? Is it between 165 and 175 C?

Have you tried using offsets to begin to move the head away in the Z axis while it is moving in a lateral ( X Y ) direction. The spikes are difficult on the Ersa, but experiment with hitting the location from different directions may help also.

FYI: Most Sn/Pb and Pb Free solderpastes today are designed to run both a ramp-soak-spike or ramp-spike profiles.
