Pad Metallurgy Used: Copper OSP pads were used for all of the results that I have been reporting. The same design test boards with Nickel/Gold pads are available and awaiting further assembly tests. I will consult with a board technology and metall

No-clean fluxes seem harder to clean from stencils [squeegees and tools] than water wahable fluxes. Do you see that also? If so, what is the impact on stencil cleaner operation?

I am curious how you measure your printed paste thickness. We are considering doing the same. As it is now we assure we have squeegee pressure and speed controlled, have not actually measure the printed paste thickness.

How do you assure you "have squeegee pressure and speed controlled"? Search the fine SMTnet Archives for background on measuring paste thickness.

We use steel stencils. The adhesive manufacturer can give recommendations for squeegee type, material, pressure, etc. A lot of the tech data sheets include this information.

Hi mates, just to add-on, for DOE, also include squeegee printing direction as a factor. Good Luck! happy DOE-ing.

When we DOE a board, we use the following independent print variables: * Print pressure * Print speed * Separation speed * Aperture orientation * Squeegee hardness

In my haste to respond, I neglected to ask THE QUESTION. What is it about your current process that you would like to improve? While we're at it, tell us more about your: * Stencil * Paste * Printing process and set-up

MPM SP200 are nice. Visual alignment with cameras. Get the one with dual head if you want metal squeegees. We have produced boards with .020" fine pitch with very good results. Unfortunatly, MPM does not sell those anymore, so you have to hunt for a
