There is no standard for the spacing of components, nor should there be. We have a difficult time picturing your 0805 at a 45* to the wave and the safe pin, but we'd guess this spacing needs to be 10 thou.

According to IPC-A-600, measling can occur in epoxy-glass boards when the moisture content of the board is above 0.3wgt%. Is this the industy acceptance standard for max moisture content of a board?

Right you are. Count on it taking at least an hour if you've never done it before. I think they made the pro-head way too complicated. Standard UP style heads are so much easier.

It realy depends on your product. Tighter tollerance boards require a better machine, which costs more money. Multi-layered baords wih a alot of heat sink will require preheat - something a lot of selective solder machine do not come standard with.
