Jobbie, We are also not using the Mydata forks for the vibe feeders. We take a tube for the vibe component and cut a pick pocket. We use the back of the forks as stops. This has eliminated many of the pick problems from the vibes. Good Luck Chris

Alpha 856 Flux For Wave Soldering

I use Alpha 857 W.S. for wave is that what you mean? If so, I love this stuff, it solders everything. one downside to it is convection (wave , rework) can dry it out and leave white hazes and even residues at the joints.

I have been using Alpha 856 for about 8 years. It is an excellent flux. Today we are using it in a new flow solder machine that has a spray fluxer and it seems to be working fine. I can be contacted at jlalicker@amitulsa.com

Ask the distributor (or coilcraft) what the termination material is & if they do alternative ones. These maybe from old stock. If you get no joy have a look at Epcos & Murata who both have wide ranges of surface mount inductors.

Thanks Rob. We've been in contact with Coilcraft, but haven't gotten anywhere, yet. We'll check out the other coils. We started using Coilcraft because of their high Q.

Humidity in SMT room

We have just purchased a humidity logger and I need to know what the relitive humidity should be in a SMT production area. The Room is enclosed approx. 60ft by 30ft using ESD Floor tile. 3 machines are in the room as well as some Thru hole machines.

Where in the world are you? Is it naturally that dry and you'e trying to keep it up, or do you dry it to that state? 'round here 40-45 is the norm so we don't put much thought into controlling it.
