Not trying to be negative but MYplan or MYlabel are not really going to help you with this. The most they will do is tell you what you already know: the reel is on another machine. Instead of dropping 5 to 10k on software think of how many reels you

Do you have any components that don't come off the machine? It sounds like you work for an OEM, not a CM. I used to work for an OEM with similiar changeover numbers as you. I had them make a list of very common parts that never came off the machine.

Josh, Thanks for the tip. I checked out the brochure and the software looks excellent. I don't know if the management would go for it but it never hurts to ask. I am interested in finding ANY software that would specifically run a BOM comparison on a

It's unrealistic to have an operator available for '0.003 sec.' Consider the total time it takes an operator to load a board. * Stop doing whatever he/she was doing prior to the call 'load board' * Secure tools or other gear * Move to load board loca

Fiducial Recognition

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 13 03:55:21 EDT 2012 | eniac

I think, each engineer had this situation. Try to change something - pattern of fiducial, finish cover on your PCBs (HASL to flash gold) or solder new LEDs in to your mounter. On my Mirae's mounters we have two rings of LEDs - red LEDs and blue LED

We've had our share or troubles with this over the years. Flex arrays are the worst. If you machine allows search box sizing, make sure the x/y coordinates of the fids are perfect (CAD #'s only as always!) then make the search box as small as possi

Fiducial Recognition

We have a Quad QSV-1 and have had some trouble with it reading 0.040" fiducials. Our work is very low volume so we just manually spot the ones it can't read. We do not clean the fiducials. Instead we increased the fiducial size to 0.060" and it has b

Unsoldered gold pads on unleaded wave solder process

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 13 06:42:14 EDT 2012 | brettrenishaw

We have a problem with our Unleaded wave solder machine only randomly soldering some pads. I have looked at the flux level and that appears fine aswell as cheking the preheat and solder height in the bath. The probelm is not exclusive to one perticul

Unsoldered gold pads on unleaded wave solder process

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 13 16:51:26 EDT 2012 | davef

Sorry, but I don't have a quick and easy answer. Before jumping the 'black pad shark,' tell us more about your boards ... * Is the gold still on the pads after soldering? * Can you make the pads take solder using a soldering iron? * Does this happen

Unsoldered gold pads on unleaded wave solder process

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 14 04:24:32 EDT 2012 | brettrenishaw

Yes pads are still gold after the wave soldering process even if you wave solder a pcb several times. I have tried soldering using an iron and the solder takes to the pad as you would expect. This happens on all boards of this type and all boards are
