PCB residue after wave solder

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 29 07:26:12 EDT 2009 | dilogic

Hi Patrick, thanks for the response. I might add some more information - we succesfully soldered some boards with the same settings of belt speed, pre-heat temp. etc. This batch of boards differs from the previous in a way that they are 4-layer. May

SN100C Nickel Content

Im not sure that 0.004% is that critical in a solder alloy. If people are using our alloy and the Nickel increases we would most probably suggest running a dopant alloy without Nickel to bring the levels back down, it is very rare to require dumping

AOI Sony vs Orbitech

Electronics Forum | Sun Aug 09 09:48:19 EDT 2009 | orproadamshaw

I'd like to correct a few of the points made above. Orbotech have sold their Assembly business to Orpro Vision GmbH, we are based in Germany, where we developed the Vantage S22, Symbion S36 and their predecessors the VT / Trion series. Both Develop

If he is the same Martin Gershenson who works for Christopher, then I'de believe he's being sneaky. We demoed one of their units three years ago, along with Mirtech and YesTech. Of the three, they were the only ones who wouldn't let us experiment w

Printing SEMTECH SLP2710P8 8-pin package

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 07 07:55:30 EDT 2009 | robhs

Hi. We are planning a production run of a board that utilises the SEMTECH SLP2710P8 8-pin device (2.7 x 1.0 x 0.58mm). The part orientation on the board necessitates that the squeegee print direction approaches the stencil apertures on the long side

MPM UP2000 HiE Z problem

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 07 09:53:12 EDT 2009 | kpm135

The Z-axis Drive card on our MPM UP2000 HiE fried. We replaced it with a new card, setting all the jumpers to match the old card. After that we had to recalibrate the Z-axis and the snugger height but the problem is that the camera is now too close t

Need low cost pick and place machine for limited production

Hi, You don't need X-ray and all that crap. I would get an old MYDATA TP9 or something like that, and a manual stencil printer and a batch oven or a small inline oven. Should do the trick and be very low cost. Should be simple to use as well. Tha

BGA post SMT reflow?

It's some time difficult to control process when > using a heat gun. What is the intent of using the > heat gun after test? we agree... the heat gun method was an experiment. We are planning to us a hot air re-work station. The intent is to re-

Vapour phase soldering - problem

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 20 08:23:23 EDT 2009 | ratsalad

One diagnostic tool that I have found useful in the past is the "hot plate test". Place suspect components and/or PCB's on a hot plate and turn it on High. Then observe. Granted the conditions on the hot plate are not the same as in a reflow oven,
