I've always asked the board house to send me the Gerber data they used to make the board. I've found that things got moved for reasons unknown to either of us (e-mail gremlins?). 9 times out of 10 I take this Gerber and have my stencil manufacturer

We're producing a quite large scale on PCB's in different sizes and desity as well as various component sizes. Time by time and very sudden we have the Tombstone effect. Evaluations by the technic dept. didn't show the sufficient result of where t

Hi Steve, Our China plant is using DEK 288. The cycle time is very impressive. However, there are some imperfections make our engineers feel bother. Maintenance is a big problem. As the machine was discontinued, the immature design was not improved.

Sorry for not getting back sooner.. a virus attacked our network yesterday. The experiment you have outlined is what I had next on my list...just trying to see if anyone had done it before. We will be experimenting with 0.004" and 0.005" thick sten

... and don't forget proper stencil alignment. Invariably I find most bridging problems for fine pitch parts, etc. is caused by lousy alignment. The alignment must be verified under magnification, using the naked eye is not good enough. Use at least

Great advice!........Single tier feeder set-up carts are also available through Universal instruments directly for this exact purpose. Most people who really care about this changeover time have "pit-crews" that work in the component storage areas, o

Why not quantify the amount of time spent taping apertures every time you want to use the stencil vs. the cost of a new stencil (about $300, usually)? Look for problems that are created by the blocked aperture method - is there rework down the line t

Can anyone share with me the best timing for the escalation process, let it be either equipment downtime or process downtime ? Our SMT line is really up to the throat. I used to hv an escalation process like, say if the printer down, the machine will

You are correct. So, the unit amount of gold [based on IG plating thickness, size of the pad, etc.] dissolves in the solder very quickly. When the solder is liquid for: * A long time, the gold disperses more. * A short time, the gold concentrates a

I have a mixed technology PCB that has SMT all on bottom, TH parts on both sides (Yes, I realize that's bad. Can't be avoided.) We have designed a 10-up panel, 2 x 5 array. There are 50 leads per bd, 500 per panel. How much time is reasonable to a
