Molten metal has a high surface tension. If the pads are uneven you can have uneven forces. Decades ago if part were not placed exactly right, they would come out of the oven centered. (or tombstoned)

Check your 500 nozzles under a microscope very closely for tip damage, clogs, or un-smooth spring action. 1 bad nozzle can make it seem like you have a chronic problem. If you have knock off nozzles (chinese reproductions) that can be an additional i

Ok fellas, tell me how you'd fix this! I'm having melf connectors that are tombstoning in the wave, NOT the reflow, the wave. I've never seen this before. All other parameters are the same...solder, preheats, placements, the board, building humidi

Re: reflow profile

The optimal profile to choose is determined by the following factors, (1) thermal mass and distribution across the board, (2) reflow temperature range needed for a particular alloy, (3) the nature of flux. When the thermal mass is small, such as cell

Everybody aware of the tomb-stone problem on 0402 package. I've done everything I could i.e. Profile, placement, 10 Deg placement, stencil design, but still this culprit exist. One things for sure is taht I have a very bad pad size for 0402 ( 25 mil
