Hi Guy's, Sorry about this, but yes it's another lead free related question. We are looking at using a Chinese SMD DC-DC Converter in a new design, whilst keeping one eye on the approaching Lead-free issue. The manufacturer claims that these are O

In every part of the dive, assume the proper position, keep toes pointed always, relax hands but keep pointed, stretch arms, make sure legs are together during takeoff and the dive, hands have to touch the top of the toes in a pike position, moving t

I'm experiencing an impedance breakdown on an 0805 ceramic cap. In the application, the cap is at a 16V bias at all times. The unit failed in an extremely high humidity condition. We are using a NC flux and have determined there was flux underneat

In almost every application an ultrasonic spray fluxer will out perform foam fluxing. Better soldering results are what most expereince after making the change to U/S spray. There are good ultrasonic units from USI and Sono-Tek. www.ultraspray.com w

Well first off I wouldn't evaluate paste for a wave process. I would use solder bar instead. Flux - top side fillets and no shorting on the solder side, does it clean well after processing if using water soluble flux. How wide is the process win

We allow only water in production area; but only ESD-safe containers with a cap, and the owners name on a sticker. The water bottles must not be kept on top of the machines, conveyors or nearby components/pcb:s We think this is no problem at all, a

I am using this same flux and haven't had too many problems. I think Russ is steering you right on your wave flow and I would also check the fluxer performance to make sure it's getting to the top of your board. Are you sure these aren't sunken joint

We also use Indium NC-SMQ92J. We do the same as mentioned per Russ. We reduce apertures mostly on QFP's with pitch of 25 mil or less (we place down to 15 mil QFP). All other apertures we keep 1:1. We print resnet 0805 size with no problems. You might

About $60K for a good bench-top unit and $120K for a good in-line. AOI is justified if you are spending a lot of time ($$) visually inspecting your boards. AOI machine is faster and more reliable than a human for this task. Plus, visual inspectors d
