I'm doing SMT of lead-free solder BGA on FR4 Ni-Au PCB. The solder paste I'm using is Sn/Ag/Cu and reflow with peak temp at 240C. I found there are voids(1-2) in almost every solder joint(500 micron in dia) under xray. And the void size is violate th

No Rob you didn't misunderstand, I forgot the decimal point! Lets try this .2" thick (I have built this and yes it was V-Scored) We didn't break any caps on that baby just fingers, that was the wildest VScore job I have ever seen I don't know how the

Morning all, Has anybody done any pin in paste job with a dispenser? I read somewhere that the needle i.d. should be slightly larger than the hole diameter, but with holes of 1.4 mm I would have to work with a very large needle indeed. How does past

Normally, some conformal coatings do not have very good wetting properties, that should be basic function of a good coating material (the same reqirement as avoid bubbles during coating process)! For UV curing conformal coatings, you can try Lackwe

I'm with DaveF on this one. I think you'll be trying solve this one for a long time. Alloy42 just doesn't like to be soldered. What exactly is the issue? Lack of a toe fillets at on the cropped lead? There is no spec for a toe fillet other than to

Sounds like a epididymis! It depends on your paste chemistry. You can't just slap any old saponifier in there. Most water based cleaners evaporate the water and you have to remove the dried paste. It's a bit messy, maybe that's why your's is over

Have you tried changing the algorithym type in mark info. to special 1 or 2 ? you will have to perform an F6 on this after you change it. If you were on Normal before then you will want to lower the threshold from the what you have it set at ,probabl

I'm trying to find a solution that will clean our PCBAs that will meet the following criteria: 1. Low cost 2. Enable us to clean 25 - 100 PCBAs per day 3. Leave boards clean, including residue removal 4. Preferably environmental friendly 5. should b

Are you using nocleans, especially when you get to SMT? Years ago, I had OA wave flux get into vias that were plugged from the top under parts. It is really difficult to clean small, high aspect ratio vias. Cross sections showed that the copper in
