Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 01 17:36:31 EST 2018 | spoiltforchoice

I wouldn't touch one of these Chinese machines if a reliable "no headaches" experience is what you are after. I'm sure they do OK for whatever it is they are designed for, but actual volume production not so much. As others have said, proper machines

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 10 08:42:40 EST 2000 | John

We're quoting out a new board design, and one of the prospective suppliers is pitching a silver coating process over hot air leveling. We haven't had experience with boards of this type, and I am concerned about any processing issues that may come u

By Hot Air Knife I assume (leave it alone Dave F.) that you mean a debridging knife located at the exit end of a wave solder machine. Russ is right, they are not a good substitute for a good process, but once the process (w/o HAK) is developed, it

Russ, I'd be happy to buy your Chipmaster back. The fact that you don't like the unit tells me you don't do rework. If you were unsatisfied, why didn't you call? (305-451-4722) APE offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee. We would have given you a ful

Casey, I will start with the lack of thermo-couple control - The unit I have is based on time and temp. exclusively. What happens when a cold board gets reworked vs. a hot board? No bottom side preheat, the heating is very localized to topside a

IP3 Lock-Up

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 24 12:48:45 EST 2000 | Larry Johnson

I have seen this problem several times on several different IP3's... When the MTU is about to pick a part from the tray, the machine will just stop. No error, just says, "producting", in green. E-stop, reset and start again, and you hear air from
