Hi, using a nitrogen should give you different solder joints, than using just air. The joints should be more shiny and clear. With air they should remain more blurry. Emil

The dewetting is caused by using a silcone based adhesive. Select a tape that is acrylic based. Tapes are a high esd generator. Always use an ionizer.

What flux are you using? We use a low-solids No-Clean water-based flux. Maybe some of what you are seeing is not residue from the flux but is from reaction with the solder mask.

We use Ascentec Engineering and have used DMI and Pentagon. All make a very good product. I have no association with the business mentioned above.

If gloves are used to handle a PCBA, wouldn't the glove material need to be conductive or dissapative rather than simply "anti static"? Gloves labeled as static free nitrile, latex or vinyl shouldn't be used to handle a PCBA?

I would only use CO2 on machinery dry chemical extinguishers mess up your machine if you ever need to use them. For further advice you can call your local fire marshal.

We were using AIM WS485 SAC305 and AIM NC257 SAC305 and we had problems with voiding and AIM�s narrow process windows. Now we are using Indium3.2 and Indium8.9 with much better results.
