SMT termination visual and solderability issues.

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 14 13:16:49 EST 2006 | Carol Stirling

CRITICAL DILEMA! Has anyone run into the problem described below and if so, what was the fix (besides not dealing with this Supplier)? Also, we do not have component manufacturing process experience. We are purchasing a surge resistor that function

SMT termination visual and solderability issues.

That is a tough situation and a tough answer for us SMT forum participants. After all, most of us are in the business of placing and soldering components to circuit boards, and you know the saying; you can't make solder joints with an unsolderable su

Visual Manufacturing Users?

We are considering implementing a change of our operating software to Visual Manufacturing by Lilly Software Associates. We may also add portions of the quality package by IQS to help us meet quality standards (ISO 9002) requirements. If anyone has e

PCBA VALIDATION

I would strongly suggest you run a qualification test program on all your boards to verify the design and the manufacturing processes. Only visual inspection seems pretty risky approach, even if the boards were produced in-house.

PCB Inspection Templates

Wave soldering inspection templates enhance the visual inspection process by guiding the operator's eyes to a specific location on the board to check for the presence and correctness of components. I feel that PCB visual inspection template should be

Ruggedized PCB Assembly

Need some opinions from you fine folks. We are building assemblies 90% SMT, 10% TH. Fine pitch and BGA devices, etc. The customer is complaining about cold solder joints (SMT) after about 1 year of use, scattered thru-out the assembly, not consistan

Visual Inspection of PCBA

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 09 10:16:48 EDT 2019 | valletta

Hi, I am new to PCBA manufacture and would like to ask the experienced users whether it is normal to have 100% visual inspection in the industry? Or is AOI and ICT testers if programmed correctly enough? Thanks in advance David
