I don't think that you would need to test these. Have you ever seen any evidence of solder sticking to them? We use the same material and never notice anything besides flux staying on the bottom. Would the lead absorption if any even be of a concer

hi, gald to hear that yr process is working well.....we are in the process of buying a wave with SN100C solder.....any pitfalls/precautions that you took during the transition? did you do any DOE for setting up the profile values?? are you seeing a

Since it is in a pallet, I would be sure the preheat temperature is correct across the entire assembly. We've seen large temperatue delta's across assemblies that are soldered in pallets. Could be overheated even or contact time too long. Interest

We build a mixed tech [eg, QFP, SMT fly shit, DIP] board where we can't clinch the DIP. So we set the clinch and cut on the DIP to just barely clinch, leaving the leads very perpendicular to the board. I wonder if you could do something similar wit

We have some large plated through holes, that we protect with hand placed Kapton dots before they go into the wave. Is there a better option? We are going to see if the boardhouse can put them on for us but I was curious how others are/would do this.

Just to nitpick a little, collecting defect data and reacting to it really isn't an SPC function. Cal's recommendations (determine critical processes, assess process capability and acceptable limits) are spot on and are pretty much the definition of

Hi, Do you mean selective palettes in the wave? We are running those, and it makes the process window tight, but once we got there, it's great. Pre heating the board was a bit difficult, but we got it right, and went for a water based flux. Not sure

Steve , I agree with all the responses you have received. Randy Villeneuve is absolutly correct in all of his assesments and I would consider him an expert with the process , Gris is correct about adding a "heat sink" to the process complicating pr

Dear all, As we know there is a high risk of reliability issue due to lead contamination during mixture of NLF component at LF wave soldering process. But we have the following feed back from one of our customer as follow: Concerning the risk of m
