| Has anyone done head-to-head comparison between these two? If so, what were pro's and cons of each? Which choice, if any, was made? | | We here are looking into implementing an SPC program for Wave Solder. The tool would be used once or twice,

Could this QFP be easily wave soldered if placed on solder side of PCB, if so are there two different footprint formulas that take both wavesoldering and reflow into consideration. Thanks again. Jack

If we procure parts with a Sn/Ag termination, can we still use standard Sn/Pb solder pastes and the current reflow and wave processes?

Try to insert thin copper plate (approx. 1.5mm thk) at the end of the flow direction. Place it approx. 2mm away from the lead. The copper will pull away the solder & thus minimise bridging problem.

Hi folk's With some pcb's after wave soldering ,we find some solder blobs on vias. There seems to be air inside these blobs What can we check in order to solve this problem? Thanks in advance

Quick question for Dave, Out of curiosity, why concave? I ask because we are soldering RNETs that come in either style and have not payed much attention to this. Russ

Does PTH design can affect the wave soldering process in term of increasing the incidence of solder bridges, even without a component being present?. I have been experiencing a situation weere I believe this is happening. In this case separation of P

How did you decide the problem is cosmetic? One possibility is poorly cured solder mask. Tell us more about your board, flux and solder materials, and wave process.

Anyone using selective soldering pallets to run boards with previously reflowed bottom side SMT through the wave? Any comments, pro or con? Seems like a reasonable approach for someone that doesn't want to install a dispenser.
