Wave Solder, Flux density measurement?

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 01 09:26:39 EST 2006 | pjc

Density is an "implied" measurement to determine activity. Most flux suppliers can sell you a flux acidity (activity) measurement kit. I used one from Multicore a few years back. We used it once in the morning and once after lunch to monitor no-clean

Well thats what i was thinking of doing and i am not worried about the designer of the PCB. He truly is a dick and i have had many fights with before about wave soldering pad sizes yet he insists he is right but i change them anyway and send the orig

Hi Russ, Just a quick note to you the assembly houses, You say your transition will be the easiest, I would have to beg to differ after working with several CM's and working with there Wave solder lines and finding compatibale fluxes that will work

All of us wave solder FR4 all day-long, not to say we have never had problems doing it. The selection of the laminate material should depend on the burnin application. We'd be concerned about a FR4 burnin board that saw GT 150*C for extended period

Sorry Bill We have filled and supported over 250 Lead free machines now and have actually moved the angle back to 7 degrees the same as Leaded and the bridging problems have gone away.Dwell times are only fractionally longer and results are very goo

Russ, I felt the same way before I took the job doing this, and actually only took the job after taking a weeks vacation to look at the machine. There is certainly some truth to Chinese companies basing thier engineering on existing well known suppl

I had no idea what this thread would result in.... But, since we are on the "made in China" kick... There is serious immitation going on, that is true. But that will not be the case long term. There are already companies innovating, there is techn

The Chinese make lots of things well, and a few percentage of things badly, as do many companies in Europe, US etc. However... as China is so large, that small percentage equates to a lot of product. Just do your homework on any equipment before y

SMT on Flexible circuits

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 15 08:34:50 EST 2007 | rgduval

Jim, In a previous life, we built some flex circuits for a customer. The configuration was a flex cable, with a circuit at one end of it. We had fixtures made out of the same material that we had selective wave solder fixtures made from. Cut an i
