The Solderballs are on the botton side of the board. The solderballs are concentrated around through hole edge connectors, which have a Tin/lead finish and have lead pitch of 2.5mm, on top of this, random solderballs are occuring around test points. T

I'd like to add something about the ECD product. During a past work term (I'm a a co-op student) in an SMA plant, I worked extensively with the Super MOLE Gold in developing the reflow profiles for high-mix, low-volume production. I was 'married' t

In response No thats not all you need to think about, but lets look at each and then talk of others. a)The condition of the solderable surface on boards (and components) degrades over time or can be supplied in poor condition (to thin or thick HASL

Are you using an Omega (vibrating laminar flow) or other type of hole fill enhancement? If so, turn it down and this will help with the solder balls coming through the board. Otherwise it seems as though the flux is still to wet/liquidous when it

Stuart, My suggestion is a DFM meeting (most of the process people dream about a meeting like this, and luckily, I've been to a few) with: - project manager (if there's one) - customer service rep (annual volume, lot size, product life) - smt proce
