Running with sn100c in my solder pot!

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 27 16:05:33 EDT 2006 | grantp

Hi, Do you mean selective palettes in the wave? We are running those, and it makes the process window tight, but once we got there, it's great. Pre heating the board was a bit difficult, but we got it right, and went for a water based flux. Not sure

Yikes!! In-line cleaning, to clean cosmetic and benign residues (from a NO-CLEAN) flux... You sure you can't switch fluxes? Another variable with residues is the solder mask. Depending on mask type (glossy, matte, semi-gloss, or semi-matte), will

Hi, Yes, I would hate to resort to cleaning, but the product must be clean. We have been using palettes to keep most of the flux off the PCB, but there is still residue around the connectors. Does anyone suggest a good no clean flux to use with le

Boy it is good to see the wave master back in action! I mean really guys, is Larry the only one here who knows that the lead turns into vapor in the oven and then in the cooling zones it falls back onto the board and creates the solder joints? P.

There is no "standard" or "procedure". Your customer is putting a requirement on you because this has probably lead to weak QFP solder joints breaking in the field or non-functioning units due to co-planar QFP legs. Ive been there done that. Had

Hi All, We did not change our internal Solder pot components (stainless steel)when we switched to Leadfree Alpha SACX . Running approx: 1 year now and I carried out checks yesterday and we have some signs of erosion. Did not expect to see this so s

We'd guess that your white residue on the solder is from minerals in the supply water. We expect the levels of these minerals that you see: * Vary depending on the season. Check with your public water authority for anaylsis. [Recognize that this ma

SN100C wetting problems

There are a lot of areas that could be leading to this problem. We have some of these issues on some boards with this solder as well but the hole fill still meets IPC class 3 requirement of 75% vertical hole fill. Through hole diameter is important.

We have a 3/6 Nozzle We do have monitors. One of our pots is leaded, the other is lead free. Our average wave height is ussually around 50%. Also, do you have any or found any benefits to removing nozzels at the end of your shift. I recall you say

Best source for 50lb of SN100C bar

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 31 13:42:08 EDT 2008 | comatose

I'm looking to fill a solder fountain with 50lb of SN100C. My usual source for paste and the like doesn't stock this alloy. We run double sided reflow, so we're not going to be needing hundreds of pounds for a wave machine at any point. Who is the
