Hi John, We have been selective soldering for about two years. My suggestion is to use the same guidelines for preheat, duration and temp as you would in wave. Your flux manufacturer should be able to provide you with the details. Good Luck Chris

I would like to know if anyone has a generic Temp. chart for SMT components. I need to know the Max. temp. parts can withstand while going through the reflow or wave operations. Thanks Bob Leible Raven Industries

No matter what you do, get references from OEM's and CM's. Ask many pointed questions. Any reference worth his salt will give you the good and the bad of their purchase. I personally would not recommend TD.

All of the SMT adhesives that I have used are non-conductive by themselves. I assume that the solder joints are formed by wave soldering?

Assuming the poor hole fill is not localized, try: * Inadequate preheat * Flux specific gravity is low * Low solder temperature * Conveyor is running too fast * Solder pot is contaminated

You can do much better than Novastar, their systems once made in Germany -now completely designed and manufactured in India and the quality control has suffered as well as Novastar'ss reputation and ability to keep up technologically. These machines
