Baking PWBs prior to wave solder

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 16 15:20:29 EST 2002 | sueph

Randy, are you baking initially for surface mount? These boards I'm talking about are just thru hole, so there would not be any bake between baking for part marking and wave solder.

Flux Selection

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 23 17:20:05 EST 2002 | davef

Try: * Prebake * Flux density * Conveyor speed * Upper preheat * Cooling time * Chip wave * Solder temperature You could add immersion depth (1/3 to 2/3 of the board) to convince yourself that it has the least impact of any variable in wave solderin

Epoxied Parts Falling Off

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 21 12:52:05 EST 2003 | russ

Are you 100% positive that the parts are on before wave? I have found that asking an operator "were they there before?" does not always provide for an accurate answer. how is your handling before and after the wave process? Russ

Wave soldering of Carbon Switch pads on PCB

Is this safe to wavesolder the PCB in wave contaning carbon pads for switch or somekind of masking is to be put on that pads.

Wave soldering profiling

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 11 09:16:05 EDT 2003 | davef

Il ne pas de quois. Two most important parameters are: * Solder temperature * Dwell time Immersion depth [1/3 to 2/3 of board thickness] has the least impact of any variable in wave soldering.

Try using ECD Wave Rider. This system will helps you on taking the parameter of the machines. It will helps you. Let me have your eamil ID so that I can send some information to you with an attachment. Regards Danny Hui

sorry one other thing are you sure your getting 2 -3 seconds dwell after you reset the wave? Or is the dwell much longer?

Does anyone know if there's a forum dedicated to the wave solder process? I would like to share ideas and thoughts about this process.
