If you do not want to invest in a wave pallet, then you'll have to find a way to equalize your thermal mass across the PCBA so your machine settings work for both "PCBs" (Ridig+Flex). My $0.02, George

George. I also wanted to let you know that PROMATION is now an exclusive distributor for QUICK soldering robots. These are about 1/2 the cost and work very, very well.

Use the appropriate heat for that part. You can then use techspray flux remover with a brush. Spray the brush, and not the board, to reduce spreading the flux. Acetone or alcohol are less expensive and may work as well.

I would presume you reflow the top of the board first. Use tented vias. As you have worked out, vias have surface tension, which sucks the solder up the hole during reflow of the bottom of the board. Good luck! regards sarason

Anyone?? Recently attempted using a PVA FC100 valve without luck. Works great until it clogs..

We remove the LGA, clean the pads, "re-ball" the LGA by solder-printing it, reflow and re-install it on board as BGA. That way, we don't need to apply solder paste on board. It works !!!

Looks good. Have you done any work on feeding form part tubes? I have a back burner project trying to speed up the changover on our machine with the vibe feeders.

I will have a look and see what may work for us. Is there no generic interface that I could possibly look at to pause the machines should we need a reel swap?

Parmi & yestech are great machines, Mirec is pretty good too,,, But I've had software and support issues with them in the past.. very painful to work through software issues/upgrades with.
