We have two batch systems here. The systems have worked very well but the interior stainless steel is very dull. We are running a DI based open loop system for cleaning primarily a WS flux. In special cases we have used ArmaKleen E-2001 and Alpha

My operator applied flux gel ALPHA WS-609 on MG P/N FTH101XAP (CAP ALUM 100UF 50V 20% SMD) before aqueous washing the PCBAs. Solder paste used was ALPHA WS-820. Now the caps have yellow stains. Any solution to this is appreciated. Tks

Sorry davef. I was not being clear. PCBAs came out cold soldered after being reflowed the first time with ALPHA WS-820. The flux gel ALPHA WS 609 was supposed to be applied only onto the terminations of caps where ALPHA WS-820 was for a second refl

wlsmt: You’ve got to help us out here: * Why did you apply solder paste to capacitors prior to water washing the PCBA [where the caps were attached?]? * Did you reflow the Alpha WS-609? * How is the Alpha WS-820 involved in this? * Talk about the

Are you just washing WS boards? Are you using any chemicals?

I'm a user changing over from WS-609 to WS-709. WS-709 has less voiding problem and longer stencil life than WS-609. Ws-709 has a less foaming during washing process. Thanks, Myu

We currently have RMA and WS soldering processes here and do batch cleaning for both. We are experiencing some capacity issues and are interested in looking at an IN-LINE aqueous wash. My experience with in-line wash is only with WS. 1. Since RMAs

Thanks for the info. In a past life I ran everything WS and washed in a batch wash using saponifier. I'm surprised I never saw anything then as we would regularly wash boards assembled on only one side. Unless it's specifically washing in DI only.

A water soluble solder paste (AIM WS483), reflow and wash. We are considering using AIM NC254 No-clean solder paste to eliminate the wash step.
