Counterfeit Electronic Parts West Program Finalized

Oct 12, 2013

SMTA and CALCE are pleased to announce that the program for the Counterfeit Electronic Parts and Electronic Supply Chain Symposium West is finalized and available on-line at www.smta.org/counterfeit and registration is open.  The event will take place November 19-21, 2013 in San Diego, CA.

The program includes eight sessions over two days with presentations from Applied DNA Sciences, Boeing Company, CALCE at the University of Maryland, Creative Electron, ECIA, ERAI, IDEA, Integra Technologies, Nisene, Premier Semiconductor Services, LLC, and more.

Sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday will cover topics concerning Supply Chain Management, OCMs and Franchised Distributors, Independent Distributors, Inspection Methods and Tools, Technology Solutions, and Counterfeiting Directions/OEMs. The sessions will close with a panel discussion on SAE 6171 Laboratory Test Methods.

The final day, Thursday, November 21, will feature two workshops. The full day workshop, instructed by Diganta Das, Ph.D. and Bhanu Sood, CALCE, will cover Counterfeit Part Avoidance and Detection. The half day workshop, instructed by Anne Poncheri of Anne Poncheri Quality Consulting, will cover General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories - Implementation of ISO/IEC 17025.

The conference is organized by SMTA in conjunction with the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering (CALCE) at the University of Maryland. This symposium will provide a forum to cover all aspects of changes in the electronic parts supply chain on how an organization performs part selection and management through the whole life cycle of the parts.  The information discussed at the event will be valuable to supply chain managers, component engineers, brand protection specialists, marketing and procurement policy makers, contracts management, security specialists and other interested engineers.  The event is endorsed by SAE International.
