IPC’s Final 2015 PCB Market Size Estimates and Growth Rates Reported in North American PCB Market Report

Aug 13, 2016 | The North American PCB Market Report, published last week by IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® reported IPC’s final estimates of 2015 market size for rigid PCBs and flexible circuits in North America. Although North American PCB production decreased 4.3 percent in 2015 to $2.9 billion, the PCB market grew 1.4 percent to an estimated $3.4 billion. Growth in the North American PCB market was driven by flexible circuit sales, which increased in double digits in 2014, while rigid PCB sales declined slightly. The outlook for PCB sales in the coming year is for continued slow growth, with normal seasonal patterns.

Jul 28, 2016 | IPC announced today the June 2016 findings from its monthly North American Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Statistical Program. Compared to the same month last year, PCB sales growth was strong while orders were down, causing a decline in the book-to-bill ratio to 0.98.

Jun 21, 2016 | IPC's Validation Services Program has awarded an IPC-6012/IPC-A-600 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) to Dongguan Shengyi Electronics Ltd., a manufacturer of single sided, double sided, and multilayer printed circuit boards in the Dongguan, Guangdong province of China. Dongguan Shengyi Electronics Ltd. is the first Chinese company to receive IPC's Validation Services QML for these standards.

IPC Announces Results of the IPC Rework Experience Competition at SMT Hybrid Packaging International Exhibition and Conference 2016

Jun 15, 2016 | The first ever Rework Experience Competition was held at this year’s SMT Hybrid Packaging international exhibition and conference. This competition tested competitor’s skills in reworking a finished printed circuit board. There were seven total competitors and all seven successfully completed the challenge. Ljupce Talevski, from Aluwave AB took first place. In second place was Ekatarina Stahlmann from Grundig Business Syst. Coming in third place was Conny Hielscher from Grundig Business Syst.

Apr 26, 2016 | IPC's Validation Services Program has awarded an IPC-6012/IPC-A-600 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) to Compunetics, a manufacturer of printed circuit boards based in Monroeville, Pa. Compunetics is the first to receive IPC's Validation Services QML for these standards. Compunetics met or exceeded the testing requirements for board coupons and passed a three-day, on-site audit by Validation Services. Maintenance of the QML requires testing of board coupons every quarter and passing of periodic factory audits.

IPC Crowns Winner of Hand Soldering World Championship

Mar 23, 2016 | The fifth annual IPC Hand Soldering World Championship at IPC APEX EXPO® March 16-17 drew 10 competitors from around the world. Victors from IPC hand soldering competitions in Indonesia, China, Europe, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and India were challenged with building a functional electronics assembly within a one-hour time limit. Completing the championship round with a score of 534 points out of 550, Vu Thi Xuan, UMC Electronics Vietnam Ltd., was crowned champion, earning her a $1,000 cash prize, a new America Hakko Products, Inc. soldering station and bragging rights as the world's best hand solderer.
