The Capital Chapter is pleased to announce that the SMTA Capital Expo and Technical Program are finalized and scheduled for September 13, 2011. The Expo & Tech Forum will be held at the Johns Hopkins University, in Laurel MD on September 13, 2011.
This year’s keynote speaker is an industry expert in the field of environmental product compliance. Krista Crotty, is the founder of AlberEcoTech, located in Las Vegas, NV. She holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Production and Operations Managements. Krista spent several years working for IBM in multiple divisions such as Storage Systems (hard disk drives), Microelectronics and Corporate Procurement. While working in Corporate Procurement of IBM, she focused on the company’s compliance program for EU RoHS. She assisted companies with environmental product compliance globally for over ten years by teaching workshops, working on companies and speaking at conferences. Her presentation will focus on REACH and the impacts manufacturers in the military and aerospace are facing. The presentation will contrast REACH and RoHS to assist with clarification and dispelling of some misconceptions about REACH.
Furthermore, attendees will have the opportunity to meet industry experts and partners and have the possibility to find answers to their process questions.
