Aqueous Technologies Corp., North America’s largest provider of batch defluxing systems, announces that its CEO Michael Konrad will present at the upcoming technical workshops titled “Cleaning Electronic Assemblies”, that will be held at two separate locations in Texas. The first workshop is scheduled to take place Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Richardson, TX, and the second will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel in Houston, TX.
Throughout the event, Mr. Konrad will give three presentations including:
- Conductive Crystals, White Residues, and Decreased Reliability: The Rush to Clean No-Clean - This presentation reviews the major causes of residue-related failures including dendritic growth, electrical leakage and under-coating adhesion failures.
- To Drain or Not to Drain - This presentation discusses the potential levels of liability associated with the discharge of cleaning effluent, and the various costs and methods of zero-discharge configurations.
- Defluxing Equipment Best Practices and Roadmap/How Clean Is Clean - This presentation includes a review of various defluxing methods including immersion, ultrasonic and spray-in-air. Ergonomic, process control, cleanliness verification, chemical compatibility and throughput considerations also will be compared and discussed.
Michael Konrad is an SMT Advisory Board member and President of Aqueous Technologies. Konrad was a member of IPC’s Stencil Cleaning Task Group, contributing to the IPC-7526 Stencil and Misprinted Board Cleaning Handbook, and is a current member of IPC’s 5-31 Committee for the upcoming IPC Cleaning Handbook.
