ACD, a leading supplier to the electronics industry, announces the appointment of Rickey Free as its Technology Evangelist. Rickey previously worked as ACD’s Design Supervisor, overseeing each of its ATE and non-ATE design teams using Mentor and Cadence software platforms.
In his new role, Rickey will administer and support companywide software implementation at ACD. This will pertain to both internally written software and third-party purchased software needed to support production. Additionally, he will be responsible for the development of training classes as well as the material and processes needed to support implementation.
“ACD has purchased or developed many efficiency improving applications and hardware over the years. However, regardless of how good the technology is, it will be useless without effective training. Rickey has a proven track record of effective training and it will be exciting to see him work on a global corporate scale,” commented W. Scott Fillebrown, President & CEO.
Rickey has more than 12 years of experience in the industry with ACD. Starting in PCB layout, he gained valuable experience as a trainer and provided help desk customer support during ACD’s early venture as a VAR for PADS software. Rickey earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University at Galveston and his CID certification in 2005.
Founded in 1984, ACD’s services comprise complete board layout services, ATE engineering services, DFM/DFA capability, printed circuit fabrication, component procurement, SMT and thru-hole mixed technology assembly, box build, rework, X-Ray, flying probe and functional test, and development.
